Welcome to Ballarat Health Services Intern Orientation
Tuesday 5th Jan - Friday 8th Jan 2015
Prior to commencement you will be expected to have completed (with evidence) the following on-line modules according to the Medical Directorate Education Matrix;
- Medication Safety (mandatory)
- Obtaining a Best Practice Medication History (organisational requirement)
- NIMC Training Module (organisational requirement)
(Access through the For Health Professional tab. You will be required to create a new account. All courses are free.)
Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care - Infection Prevention and Control (organisational requirement)
Upon completion of these course could you please send a copy of the certificate to the for the hospital records. (If you have already completed any these course please ensure to provide us with a copy of your certificates.)
There are additional mandatory and organisationally required tutorials available on the BHS e3learning site: http://ballarat.e3learning.com.au/ To access these will need to already have you BHS employee number and use the password: bhs.

Also visit HR (level 3 BRICC) to complete any paperwork and have your photo ID/access card organised.
6.30 - 8.30 Welcome Event at Sails Yacht Club.

Friday - 8th Intern Shadowing
7.30 - 7.50 Education Resource Centre - Seminar Rooms 1&2.
- Meet with the Nursing Director - Acute Inpatient Services and the Nursing Director - Sub Acute for a brief presentation before being escorted to the ward for shadowing a current Intern.
According to your first rotation you will be shadowing a current intern in that department.
